Yesterday we had a third service in the park and it was wonderful. The kids had Sunday School while Manuel brought us the message and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. They have been learning about Creation through the use of play-doh...a brilliant idea from Josie. Here the kids are showing us the story..they acted it out using the play-doh..after their class. Here in Mexico it seems to be tradition that the kids in Sunday School come into the service and show everyone what they have learned, usually with a Bible verse.
I had to take the opportunity, while Nolan was in nice new clothes, to do a short photo shoot. He was totally captivated by this tree trunk. Nolan is now 15 months old and not taking after his sisters in the walking department. But lately he is seeming to want to run out of our hands, so maybe the walking isn't far off.
| I'm excited to see the relationship between these two grow with Brooklyn in school. |
Brooklyn started school today. She was SO EXCITED!!!! She's been counting the days for 2 weeks now, and yesterday had a very hard time falling asleep. She was also up twice at night and finally stayed sleeping on the couch for the last 5 hours. Since she had less sleep, and already is not a morning person, I woke her up 1 hour before she had to leave so she had lots of time and didn't have to rush. Well....27 mins after waking her up she was dressed, hair done, breakfast eaten (she couldn't eat much with her stomach full of butterflies i'm sure), and all ready for school. So she had to keep running around with the excitement until it was time to pick up Carter and head to school. It's so nice we can carpool with friends:) Here she is ready for her first day of kindergarten...I'm praying the goodbyes at school went just as well as it did at home...LeRoy is not home yet. It's a 20 min drive at least..and then depending on traffic..and he had other business to do at the school to get her set up.
This morning we're heading on another prayer walk, then lunch, and the rest of the day free. Since it's Halloween and we're not sure how they celebrate that here, we're observing and handing out candy to those who come to our house. Lots of creepy gross looking costumes and decor out there, so we'll see how it happens. LeRoy is also hoping to head to the park to do some slacklining with some other "slackers" he found and they invited him:) I'll have to get him to do a post on how that all happened. We pray he can become great friends with these young men.
