Remember in college when you had assignments due so you had to stay up and study harder than "normal"? That's how our week has begun....With 1 week left to pack, organize and clean the house, our evenings are now full of getting stuff done after the kids have gone to bed. I've been surprised how much we have been able to get done during the day with the kids around half the time, but they've enjoyed helping a bit here or there too. It helps a lot though that the girls are in school half the day, and Nolan is happy to play or watch tv so we can get things done. But at this time of night...10:00...we need to tell ourselves that we do have another day tomorrow and get our rest so we have energy...especially since we both feel colds hitting us just as the kids have finished theirs.
A huge answer to prayer today was being able to temporarily re-register our van for Manitoba OVER THE PHONE!!! We weren't sure how that was going to work, so we were quite nervous about it, but LeRoy was able to get that done and check it off the list. Bit by bit we can cross things off the list, see more things packed, and that feels good. I sure hope we don't have to be panicking the last few days but rather enjoy our last few days with friends, enjoying the girls' Christmas program, and spending time as a family saying goodbye to this chapter of our lives and beginning a new one...or how I like to say it...a new family adventure:)
And amidst this craziness I wait and wait for a very special phone call...when we can finally say we are an aunt and uncle, and the kids will have their first cousin!!
