Day 2

We have now left Canada and had a hard time believing that we could drive almost 2 days and still be in the same province. haha We are now in Great Falls, Montana and are looking forward to more beautiful new scenary tomorrow. I kinda like my idea of showing you some travel moments through sentences, so that is what will happen once again today....

Driving through Calgary we got beautiful glimpses of our Canadian Rocky Mountains...still the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen.

For lunch we stopped at a quaint little town..forget the name..but a town that you hate growing up in and don't want to be from, but others LOVE visiting it. An old fashioned type town with many smalltown gift stores including a CANDY STORE that had all the old fashioned type candies we grew up with. So after lunch we just had to treat the girls by giving them each $1 and letting them get overwhelmed with the selection.

I was blessed with quiet time this afternoon. Nolan slept, Emma slept, Brooklyn watched a movie, LeRoy had praise and worship music playing, and I read my Bible. I was reading in Luke chapter 3 and verses 4-6 really stuck out to me how if we are in relationship with God he can make life easier than without Him. He is our Strength and Joy in the valleys and when we feel like we have a huge mountain to climb.

Today from the candy LeRoy selected we learned that there is a plant called the licorice plant. It is used to flavor licorice. And Australian Strawberry licorice is delicious.

At one point today we had a family sing-a-long time. Even Nolan claps and moves to the music.

And one last comment...we had absolutely no trouble crossing the border today. YAY!!!! Nolan waved hi to the border patrol the whole time he was talking to LeRoy and the guy just ignored him. Are border patrolmen allowed to smile?

Tomorrow is another long day of driving, but we have our little family figured out as to how we work best for traveling. We like to be done driving so we can have supper at the hotel or close to it. So we wake up accordingly and tomorrow we hope to leave by 7:30. That way we still have time to swim in the evening for wind-down time. Our kids are such troopers...God gave us great travelers for a reason we believe. Talk to you all tomorrow from Salt Lake City.
