One blessing (of many) of having a team from Canada come down, is that we try to think of worship songs that are being sung up there so we can sing with them here. What we sing here may already be considered old in our home churches, but really I have no idea...just guessing. So now we have learned a couple of newer songs that the SBC students have been singing, and one in particular has really struck me. Tomorrow we're having a staff meeting to look over the past year's events and evaluating how the year went, and once again this song comes to mind. It's written by Matt Redman and you can listen to it on YouTube here.
Never Once
Standing on this mountaintop
Looking just how far we've come
Knowing that for every step
You were with us
Kneeling on the battle ground
Seeing just how much You've done
Knowing every victory
Is Your power in us
Scars and Struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Yes, our hearts can say
Chorus
Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did you leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful
Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Never once did we ever walk alone
Carried by Your constant grace
Held within Your perfect peace
Never once, no, we never walk alone
Ever step we breathing in Your grace
Evermore we'll be breathing out Your praise
You are faithful, God, You are faithful
